AnkerWork B600 Video Bar

You can go with a simple webcam like the AnkerWork PowerConf C200 that I recently reviewed and for a lot of people maybe that is all they need. But AnkerWork has other webcam options like the B600 Video Bar that I’m going to check out today that have integrated additional features. The B600 has speakers, lighting, more microphones, and integrates a few AI features as well. Looking at the spec sheet it comes off as an all-in-one studio. So I’m curious to find out what all the B600 Video Bar has to offer and see if it is worth the extra money that it demands so today I’m going to check it out.

Anker PowerConf C200 Webcam

For many years when it came to webcams Logitech was nearly the only name you needed to worry about. Their C910 and later the C920 were the go-to option, but after that webcam innovation went stagnant. But with streaming growing in popularity and even more recently working from home due to the pandemic the need to have great quality desktop camera options have come into play again and a lot of companies have jumped into the game to spice things up. Anker, a popular name when it comes to charging options got into the webcam market last year and earlier this year they introduced their PowerConf C200 Webcam which has a 2k or 1440p resolution, a smaller size than their original 2k camera, and a lower price. I’m going to check out the C200 today to see how it performs and find out how it compares to the rest of the market.

Logitech BRIO

For almost forever now the webcam market has been extremely stagnant. That’s not to say that there haven’t been great options out there. Last December I took a look at the Logitech C922 Pro Streaming Webcam and loved it. The problem is the C922 is really just the C920 that has been on the market for 5 years and it is very similar to the C910 that it replaced. So in my C922 review, I mentioned how badly I wanted to see 4k webcams and to finally see webcams take advantage of the bandwidth that USB 3.0 gives us. Well not long after that Logitech introduced the BRIO a 4k USB 3.0 webcam with a whole list of improvements. I’m not going to take all of the credit, only most of it, clearly the short paragraph last year was the motivation they needed. Anyhow, I begged and they promised to send one over and they did just that. So today we are going to check out the BRIO and see if it is all that I had hoped!

Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam

If you have ever shopped for webcams you will have most likely realized that even though everyone and their mom sells a webcam, there is only one on the market that everyone recommends. The Logitech c920 has been at the top of the market for almost 5 years now and before that the c910 was also the go to camera. It’s crazy to think that basically the same camera could still be considered so good after so many years. Surely the tech has improved, right? Well with the popularity of streaming really getting traction Logitech decided to follow up the C920 with a new model called the C922 that is focused directly at streamers. Given the past models I have high expectations, but more than anything else I’m curious what is different with the C922 at all. So today I’m going to check it out and see what it’s all about.

Kodak Zx1 HD Video Recorder

IMG_5662_lrWe recently took a look at a new product that has become really popular in the YouTube community called the Flip UltraHD. After my review I was looking into similar products and found out a few other companies make similar products. One of those is the Zx1 from Kodak that was announced at CES this past January. Today I have a chance to take a look at the Zx1 to see how it compares against the Flip UltraHD. The Zx1 doesn’t have ultra or HD in its name but it does record in 720p and its name sounds like a sport bike so it should be an interesting comparison.

Flip UltraHD

IMG_4871 [lr]Ever sense Sony introduced Betamax there has been some variation of a camcorder device on the market. Over the past 8 years most of those devices have started to move to recording to digital media hard drives, flash cards, and even saving digital files on small dvd's. With the popularity of YouTube and other video websites the demand for cheap, easy to use, and portable recording devices has grown. In 2007, Pure Digital Technologies Unveiled the Flip Video. Over the past two years they have released a few different versions, most recently their Flip Ultra HD. With the ability to record 120 minutes of high definition video the Ultra HD will be a great fit with YouTube's HD upgrade. I had the chance to take the Flip UltraHD with me to Million Man Lan in Louisville Ky this past weekend, this gave me a chance to experience the UltraHD's portability and performance.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500

img_44942-lr-lrsmFor years the idea of video conferencing and video phones was only a pipe dream or a prop in low budget Sci-Fi films. When the internet came around this dream started to become a reality but with many limitations. More recently the idea of video phones has gained a little more traction with the inclusion of microphones and web cams on almost every laptop and some home pc's (in fact I type this right now on a low budget netbook with the features needed to do this). Of course not everyone has this ability and this is where Microsoft comes in with their LifeCam series, specifically the VX-5500. With programs like MSN(windows) messenger and Skype along with the VX-5500 you have the ability to let people see you while they talk (of course this depends on if they really want to see you). Today I'm going to take a look at the VX-5500 to see how it performs at home and on the go to keep in touch with friends and family.
